In 2003, he earned his Class “A” P.G.A. membership, where during the winter months he was fortunate enough to accept a seasonal responsibility as Director of Instruction at The Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club.

  • Director of Instruction - Mr. Tyler Hall, PGA
    • Congratulations to UMCC's Tyler Hall for winning the NJ State Open for the second year in a row! Click Here for more info.

My name is Tyler Hall and I have been surrounded by sports and the game of golf my entire life. As the son of a successful “Class A” PGA Professional, Larry Hall, golf has had an intricate role in developing me into the person I am today. I have enjoyed an illustrious playing career ranging all the way from Junior Golf to competing with the world’s best on the PGA Tour as well as Major Championships. I proudly earned a full scholarship to play Div. 1 NCAA Golf at the University of Kansas, where I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Communication Studies.

Having won multiple times on every level from Junior to Amateur to Professional, highlighted with wins at the 2011 MGA/Met Open Championship, the 2015 &16 NJ State Open Championships, I know what it takes both physically and mentally to attain such lofty success. I grew up as a product of hard work as I proudly took my handicap from a 28 to a 3 in one summer when I committed to playing competitively at 15 years old. I have always been a true believer in the great Ben Hogan’s philosophy “The answer is in the Dirt!” To me, there is simply no way to find out what you are made of if you aren’t willing to outwork your competition.

Growing up in a household with two parents that were NCAA athletes at the University of Miami, as well as an older sister who played softball at College of Charleston, the bar was always set very high for me to follow. I prided myself on learning my craft to the best of my ability and always had an acute awareness of how my body was moving. It was with this work ethic that I became a student of the game at a very young age and aspired to become a Tour Player. Throughout my journey, I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best instructors in the world, where I acquired a vast knowledge of all aspects of the game and learned how to perform under Major PGA Tour Championship pressure. After battling back from 6 surgeries on my thumb, wrist, shoulders and lower back to win the 2011 Met Open, it was then when I decided to dedicate myself to really understanding the body and its unique functionalities. It is with that notion, that I achieved and currently hold an ACE Personal Training Certification and have become one of the world first certified Tathata Golf movement specialist. I was proudly named a Finalist for the NJPGA Teacher of the Year honors 4 years running, 2015-2018.

In 2015, 2016 and 2017, I was able to win the NJPGA Assistant Player of the Year Title and upon receiving my Class A PGA membership spring of ‘18, I was awarded the 2018 NJPGA Player of the Year Title, crowned the best player in the State of New Jersey for the 4th straight year. As of this writing I just competed in the 2019 PGA Championship having earned my way into the field through my finish at the 2019 PGA Professional Championship.
